I knew he was a good guy when I saw him comforting Dayron Robles earlier this year in the indoor 60m hurdles when Robles didn't qualify, but Liu Xiang PAID for random old peoples' eye surgeries? And paid for his teammates' insurance? Paid even more than Yao Ming for the earthquake fund? Even without all this stuff, Liu Xiang is my hero. I'm so proud of him. I'm glad that he pulled out of the race, it takes a lot of courage to stand up to China.
